Gestern hab ich ne Mail von MG Motor UK bekommen.

Der Launch des MG6 scheint in UK unmittelbar bevorzustehen.
Weiterhin wird von einem Verkaufsstart in Europa noch 2010 gesprochen.

Weitere Details sollen aber noch folgen.

Nicht mehr neu, aber interessant - Mr. Rileys MG Sport and Racing Europe ist nichts anderes als ein jämmerlicher, chaotischer Messie-Schuppen:

Wie auch immer für mich sieht das nach unorganisiertem Sammler aber nicht nach erfolgsorientiertem Jäger aus - wenn das alles ist, ist auch das Kapitel beendet - Schade der neue 5-Liter V8 von Ford (Mustang) mit Biturbo-Aufladung (geplant für den Shelby GT 500) sieht auf dem Papier gut aus und wäre technisch ein ordentlicher Fortschritt gewesen...

Stewart Griffiths I have 3 sets of the MG TF 85th Anniversary wheels, the twisted pepperpots.

These are very rare wheels, and people seem to either love them or hate them.

The sets are made up of the correct size front and rear wheels, which are different than previously used on the MGF & TF. They will fit straight onto an MGF or TF, and still use exactly the same tyre sizes as the standard for 16" wheels. They also use the same centre cap, and the normal silver ones are a pretty good colour match.

These wheels are very exclusive, and can be had as a set for £650. If you sell your existing ones, then the upgrade to what I think are the best looking wheels for the MGF & TF doesn't work out too bad, especially when you consider how exclusive these are.

The wheels are available for pickup from me in Oxford any evening or over the weekend, and payment can be made either by cash or by card (sorry, no cheques unless it is cleared before collection).

MG DESIGN HQ RETURNS TO LONGBRIDGE
£5m design and engineering centre to be built at Midlands site

MG's return to the motherland continues with the company's announcement that it is to open a new £5m design studio and technical centre at the former Longbridge plant.
The MG Motor UK complex near Birmingham will become the company's design headquarters, employing 300 designers and engineers.

Cars designed there will be sold in the UK and China. The firm said it is a "major new investment in UK automotive engineering and design".

The move is the company's biggest investment in the UK since MG collapsed in 2005 and was bought by two Chinese car companies.

"These two centres of excellence sit at the heart of the MG Birmingham plant where a new family of MG models are currently being designed and engineered," an MG spokesman said.

"The designing of new cars and the engineering and technical aspects of the cars is all happening here in the UK. SAIC could have gone anywhere in the world for this but they chose Birmingham and Longbridge. It's an important endorsement."
The new MG6 will also be built at the same site and a new supermini, the MG Zero (right), which was revealed at the Beijing motor show in April.
